Multiplex reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) technology is applied to qualitatively detect 177 distinct mRNA fusion gene subtypes within 58 different fusion genes that are associated with ALL, AML, CML, other mixed leukemia,and unspecified leukemias.
